For a better society...
Yesterday i was driving home after office hours. The roads were flooded by heavy & almost still traffic. Amidst of it i found 108 ambulance trying to make its way to hospital. Siren was on, some patient was inside that ambulance and it stood there unable to move forward as there was almost 1/2km blockage ahead. I felt very pity and as usual i drove through small gaps and made it to the signal after 10mins. As i found a senior traffic person (may be traffic SI), went to him and told him that a 108 ambulance is blocked some way back in a hope that he might clear the traffic and make a way for it. Instead he listened to what ever i said and went on with his usual work. Will he do the same thing if anyone of his beloved were in that ambulance??? NEVER...
These traffic people are well trained to block traffic and make way for VIPs, but they never have little common sense to clear traffic for an ambulance. How could one survive if he's taken to hospital in hours instead of minutes? My urge is that the traffic system should have a facility for such emergency ambulances, such that, when an ambulance receives a call for help, ambulance people should be able to inform the traffic people on the way from pickup spot to hospital and make them block the road for few minutes. And i am damp sure that no one will hesitate waiting for an ambulance instead of a CM convoy.
India is still a developing country and will remain so for the coming years too until unless we, the young graduates, of glory India, extend our hands for its development.
